NATURAL WOOL CARPETS

ROMY rugs in natural wool are tufted by hand in our workshop in Normandy. They have been designed in an eco-responsible way with environmentally friendly materials.

Our wools come from different French companies that defend product transparency and animal welfare.

We favor the short circuit and therefore work mainly with a company based in Lessay in the Manche (50km from Granville where we are based). It is committed to the preservation of local Norman breeds and produces a high quality woolen yarn, only made up of three local breeds: the Avranchin sheep, the Roussin de la Hague and the Cotentin.

We also work with a company in the Baie de Somme which produces natural yarns from their Hampshire and Shetland sheep farms.

And finally we collaborate with two companies from the Creuse which work mainly with sheep farms from Limousin and the Massif Central. Our merino wool comes in particular from one of its two companies which holds the "Living Heritage Company" label and which has implanted the black merino sheep from Portugal in its farms in order to minimize the ecological impacts linked to transport.

The shades of color (ecru, light brown, dark brown, grey) are due to the fleeces of different breeds of sheep and their mixing to create varied yarns that remain natural, without dyeing or treatment.
